I am so excited about some of the things that are happening in Dallas during the month of April! Some great speakers and some other great events that will help to bring aquaponics and sustainable food production to the public awareness.

April 10th The first official meetup for the DFW Aquaponics meetup group. We will host this meetup at the same Saxby’s coffee on Midway Rd in Dallas as the previous event. This time I would like to focus more on Q&A and help individuals work on refining specific aspects of their system designs. We can also talk about ideas for future meetups, including visits to some existing, operating systems.

April 14th Will Allen of Growing Power is coming to Dallas for a day of workshops and seminars at Paul Quinn College. He is also going to host a dinner that night out at the college as a fundraiser. I have been up to the facility in Milwaukee, and I have to say it was a GREAT experience. Highly Recommended!

April 20th Slow Money hosts at 20×20 Lecture Series at SMU. This will be a very engaging evening with highly informative and engaging lectures from area specialists in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, soil biology, finance and a number of local DFW food producers. The format will be structured such that each presenter will be allowed 20 slides that can be shown for 20 seconds each. This is sure to be a fun night. Refreshments will be provided.

April 23rd Earth Day event in Dallas with Slow Money. Slow Money is hosing several tables at the Dallas Earth Day celebration and will be showcasing local sustainable enterprises and also holding a raffle for several items. Among the items is my donation – a $250 consultation credit for any aquaponics system. I will also be there to answer any and all questions that may come up regarding aquaponics.

I hope to see all of you out and about in Dallas this month!
